Briarwood Pony Club |
In Oct 2000 USPC wanted to strengthen its local clubs by training volunteers and parents through education, motivation and rewards. They developed Horsemasters (Pony Club for adults). Horsemasters’ primary purpose is to develop adult volunteers for Pony Club activities. Volunteers are crucial to the survival of local Pony Club programs. Horsemasters will also develop community awareness of Pony Club and will offer adult horse lovers the opportunity to increase their equine knowledge and skills through the Pony Club curriculum as well as provide an adult connected social atmosphere.
Horsemasters does not stand alone. It is connected to the local pony club. Briarpatch Horsemasters is a part of Briarwood Pony Club. Un-mounted meetings are once a month on the 1st Thursday and mounted meetings are on Sundays. Mounted meetings are designed to work on riding skills of all levels. Horsemasters does not have ratings like Pony Club does. A Horsemaster member may choose an area of interest ie: longeing and be evaluated through the Horsemasters bronze and silver award programs.
All adults are welcome whether or not they have prior equine experience.
